At SNS Care, we are enthusiastic about exploring various forms of technology to enhance our care provision further. For instance, our electronic medication administration system, Atlas eMAR, is now operational in our care homes, streamlining the prescription process and enabling staff to access residents’ medical records electronically. Additionally, we are piloting Atlas GP, which grants our care homes access to GP prescribing systems, expediting prescription orders and enabling staff to monitor the progress of prescriptions efficiently. We are also exploring the benefits of acoustic monitoring in one of our homes, a discreet technology that monitors sound in residents’ bedrooms, minimizing disruptions to their sleep.
In line with the evolving digital landscape, we encourage residents to embrace technology for social connectivity. Tech-savvy residents can utilize platforms like zoom and social media to stay connected with friends and family. Moreover, many of our care homes facilitate private Facebook groups, allowing loved ones to stay updated on residents’ activities.
With Wi-Fi available in our care homes, our staff are readily available to assist residents in navigating new technology, fostering digital independence among our social seniors.
